Plecturocebus caligatus (lat.) - a species of primates from the Sak family. Until 2016, it was included in the genus Callicebus , however, according to the results of molecular genetic studies, Byrne and colleagues transferred the species to the genus Plecturocebus [2] .

DescriptionThe forehead and the back of the head are black, the lateral parts of the head, neck and sides of the body are red-brown, while the hairs of the hair have black tips. The whiskers, belly and inner surfaces of the limbs are reddish, the limbs themselves are dark red-brown in color, the legs and base of the tail are black, the tip of the tail is beige [3] .
DistributionEndemic to Brazil, it is found in central Amazonia , south of the Solimines River and north of the Ipishuna River [1] .
Population StatusSince 1996, the International Union for Conservation of Nature has classified Plecturocebus caligatus as the “ Least Concerned Species ” (LC). The range is quite large and located in a remote part of the Amazon rainforest. No serious threats to the species have been identified [1] .
