Biography

Born in 1911 He took up table tennis at the age of 7 years. In the season of 1927-1928 he occupied the 6th line of the world ranking. For a quarter century, he won 14 medals of the world championships, including a gold medal in the team at the 1953 world championships.

In 1938, he married Doris Jordan, who was also a well-known English athlete and medalist in world table tennis championships. Their daughter Adrianna also became a famous tennis and table tennis player, and was one of the leaders in women's tennis in the 1960s.
