"People's Writer of Azerbaijan" ( Azeri . Xalq yazıçısı) is an honorary title of the Azerbaijan Republic awarded for special merits in the development of Azerbaijani literature ^[1] .

Content

Assignment

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan confers an honorary title on his personal initiative, as well as on the proposal of the National Assembly and the Cabinet of Ministers .

The honorary title is given only to citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the decree, the honorary title "People's Writer of Azerbaijan" cannot be assigned to the same person again.

An honorary title may be deprived of an honorary title in the event of:

conviction for a serious crime;
committing an offense that stained an honorary title

Establishment Ordinance

The honorary title "People's Writer of Azerbaijan" was established by a decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic dated May 22, 1998, along with some other titles ^[2] ^[3] :

Description

Persons awarded the honorary title "People's Writer of Azerbaijan" of the Republic of Azerbaijan also receive a certificate and a badge of the honorary title of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The breastplate of the honorary title is worn on the right side of the chest.
