Biography
Boris Bychkov was born in Moscow on August 16, 1928 . In 1943-1944 he worked as a turner at the Moscow Chemical-Pharmaceutical Plant. In 1949 he graduated from the Moscow Art College “In Memory of 1905” . In 1949-1951 he worked in Leninabad as an artist of the theater of the Southeast Mining and Chemical Combine. In 1957 he graduated from the Leningrad Higher Industrial Art College. V. I. Mukhina (Department of glass art processing by B. A. Smirnov ). In the same year he began to take part in art exhibitions. In 1957-1958 he was an artist of a glass factory in the Vladimir region . In 1958-1962, he was an artist at the Gusevsky Crystal Plant in the city of Gus-Khrustalny [1] .
In 1962 he moved to Irkutsk . From 1962 to 1972 he taught at the Irkutsk College of Arts at the ceramic and decoration department. In 1972-1977 he was an artist of the Irkutsk art and production workshops. In 1964 he became a member of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR [2] . In 1975-1977 and 1987-1991 he was chairman of the Irkutsk branch of the Union of Artists of the RSFSR [1] .
He made compositions of crystal, colored and colorless glass, as well as stained-glass windows, lighting devices, plaques. His students were L. N. Nazarova and S. P. Nazarov, N. E. Zhitkov, A. P. Ivanov [2] .
