Gorka Balka is a botanical nature monument of national importance. Located in the Amvrosievsky district of Donetsk region ( Ukraine ). The status of a natural monument was assigned by decree of the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR of October 14, 1975 No. 780-r [1] . In the reserve are protected thickets of remarkable eremurus , which is listed in the Red Book of Ukraine .
This is the main site of wonderful eremurus growth. The status of a natural monument is assigned to protect the wonderful eremurus by law. The population of eremus is in satisfactory condition.
Until 1968, it was believed that the wonderful eremurus grows only in the Bely Yar beam, it was discovered by the botanist V.I. Taliev at the end of the 19th century . In 1968, another site was found where a wonderful eremus grows - Gorkaya beam. It was discovered by specialists of the Donetsk Botanical Garden [2] . Remarkable eremurus in Ukraine, except for Donbass, grows only in Crimea [3] .
