Biography
Dzhemal Dzhaid Shamilyevich was born on November 15, 1928 in Nagorno-Karabakh. He graduated in 1953 from the Moscow Art Institute. Surikov on the class of decorative painting. He worked in the field of poster and book graphics. He illustrated books in publishing houses Raduga, Progress and others. For several years he worked as an animator for Soyuzmultfilm, and was the chief artist of the republican pavilion of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements. Participated in Moscow, youth, All-Russian and all-Union exhibitions, as well as abroad.
Creative activities
The name Jaid Jemal became famous after a series of solo exhibitions devoted to Mongolia, where he worked and lived from 1962 to 1964, laying the foundation for decorative painting.
In the creative work of the artist Jaid Jemal over 40 solo exhibitions in Moscow, Baku and other cities of the Soviet Union, as well as in Mongolia.
Jaid Jemal was acquainted with famous people of the twentieth century: Budyonny, Tsedenbal, K. Simonov, M. Kurilko, V. Favorskaya, V. Sheremetyev and many others who highly appreciated his work and saw his great contribution to art, where Jemal stands alone in the history of Soviet painting of the 60s - 90s. Teaching activity
Jaid Jamal taught all his life - first in the Moscow Institute of Architecture and Architecture from 1962 to 1970, then from 1971-1977. He taught painting at the Moscow Stroganov Institute. In 1976, he was accepted as an associate professor and then a professor at the Moscow Textile University. A.N. Kosygin (now MGTU), where he led the discipline "Painting" and "Color in a suit" at the department of artistic costume modeling.
From 1977-2011 he was the dean of the evening department of the faculty of applied art and a professor at the departments of drawing and painting and artistic modeling of costume.
Several of his works were published, and in 2011, “Color in a Suit” and “Anatomy of Color,” proposed to create a fundamentally new school of modern painting.
The creative way of the artist was difficult. Path searches and solutions of various styles and directions. The last period of creative activity ended with finding oneself in abstract - geometric plastic.
Jaid Jamal proposed a new color system for decorative painting based on the color wheel. He touched on current issues of color, proposed a new approach to the decorative solution of color. His experiments with color are widely known; He loved color and knew how to work with him.
After working for many years at the Moscow State Textile University, he, as a teacher, managed to leave a deep imprint in the field of color teaching methods. During his work he led an elementary course of painting and a course of decorative painting. And the last 10 years clearly manifested itself in the development of the new discipline "Color in a suit", where he laid the methodological foundations of the curriculum, drawing on his extensive experience in working with color. Conducted experiments with color in the classroom, led the practical and theoretical work on the color combinations of colors.
Achievements and awards
Jaid Jamal was a board member of the Society of Friends of Mongolia. In 2009, by the decree of the Presidium of the Council on Public Awards of the Russian Federation, he was awarded the Order “For Professionalism and Business Reputation of the I Degree”. For his great contribution to friendship and cooperation between the two countries, he was also awarded Mongolian awards: “Golden Star of Friendship”, medals “Nairamdal”, “For Peace and Friendship”, “60 years of the Mongolian-Russia Friendship Society”, “For Labor Merit” .
