Biography
Yoko Shinodzaki started playing volleyball in her hometown of Omiya (now part of Saitama ) at Miyahara High School, after which she played for the team at Omiya High School. In 1962 she received an invitation to the base team of the Japanese team Nitibo, which included 5 times became the champion of Japan .
In 1962, at the age of 17, Shinozaki made her debut in the national team of Japan , with which she won the “gold” of the World Championship the same year, and two years later at the Olympic debut volleyball tournament in Tokyo she also won the highest awards. At both tournaments, she was the youngest volleyball player on the national team. In 1967, she won the gold medal at the home world championships , after which she completed her playing career.
