Referenda in Switzerland were held on June 20, October 24 and December 5, 1954 [1] . In June, referendums were held on a federal resolution on concessions for shoe makers, saddlers, hairdressers and joiners and on a federal resolution on helping Swiss citizens living abroad injured during the war. Both resolutions were rejected. [1] . In October, a referendum was held on a federal resolution on the financial order for 1955-1958. He was approved by 70% of the vote. In December, a referendum was held on a civil initiative on the “defense of the Schaffhausen and the Rainau concession”. The initiative concerned the rejection of the German-Swiss plan to turn the Rhine right up to Rainau into a navigable artery, which involved some work on the river, including the construction of a dam near Rainau. The initiative was rejected by 69% of the vote [1] .
