Biography
Born in Moscow, in the family of the famous graphic artist George G. Levy (1918-1973). In 1960, his family moved to Irkutsk due to the health of Kirill Georgievich. Later he studied at school No. 42. As a schoolboy, Kirill Georgievich worked two summers with his father under A.P. Okladnikova at the excavations of the Neolithic site in Verkhnyaya Bureti, carried away by archeology. However, the choice was made in favor of geology [2] [3] .
In 1966 he graduated from the Irkutsk Geological Prospecting College. By distribution, he worked first as a technician, then as a geological engineer at the Mamsk-Chuy complex expedition of the Irkutsk Geological Administration, while he studied in absentia at ISU with a degree in Geography and Geomorphology. In 1974 he graduated from this educational institution [2] [3] .
Since 1975, he was an employee of the Institute of the Earth's Crust of the SB RAS; since 1992, he has been deputy director of the institute for scientific work. In 1980 he defended his thesis, and in 1991 - his doctorate. Since 1996, he was a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences . Since 1995 he taught at the Faculty of Geography of ISU, and since 1997 - at INITU. Since 2004 he was a professor [2] [3] .
