Boris Mikhailovich Kolker (? —2005) - Moldavian Soviet historian, doctor of historical sciences.
Biography
Born in Soroki in a family of immigrants from the Jewish agricultural colony Lublin (parents and older brother Haim died during the German-Romanian occupation during the war ) [1] . There he graduated from the Romanian gymnasium "Xenopol", then the Faculty of History of Chisinau University . He worked at the Department of History of the Balti Pedagogical Institute , then as a junior and senior researcher at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Moldavian SSR in Chisinau . From the beginning of the 1970s - at the Institute of Africa of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow , in the last years of his life - professor of Balti State University named after Alecu Russo .
The main scientific works are devoted to questions of the modern history of Romania , the circumstances of the accession of Bessarabia to the USSR [2] , European colonial policy in Africa.
Died during a scientific conference in the Czech Republic , buried in Balti .
