Jordin Kare ( born Jordin Kare , 1956 - July 19, 2017) is an American physicist and engineer known for his research in the field of laser engines .

Biography
He received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering and physics from MIT in 1978 and a Ph.D. in astrophysics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1984. [3] [4]
Jordin Cara is the brother of Susan Cara , a font and interface designer for the original Apple Macintosh . [5] [6]
Career
Ker worked for many years at the Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) . In 1996, he left LLNL and after a short work for a small company that created a satellite radar, in 1997 became an independent consultant on the development of space systems [4] and opened his own company. [5] Received a grant from NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts to study the launch of objects over short distances using relatively low-power lasers. [4] [7] [8]
Philk and Science Fiction
Cara is also known as a science fiction lover and flicker . He has regularly participated in NF conventions since 1975. [1] [9] He was the editor of The Westerfilk Collection: Songs of Fantasy and Science Fiction , an important filk songwriter and co-founder of Off Centaur Publications , the first commercial label and songwriter record label . Released two albums with his songs: Fire in the Sky (1991, distributed by Wail Songs ) and Parody Violation: Jordin Kare Straight and Twisted (2000) [1]
5 of his songs were nominated 7 times [12] for the Pegasus Award . [13]
