History
The Novoladozhsky district was formed in 1727 as part of the Novgorod province of the Novgorod province on the basis of the Ladoga district . In 1776, the county became part of the newly formed Novgorod governorate . Since 1781 - as part of the St. Petersburg province (since 1924 - in the Leningrad province ).
On February 14, 1923, the center of the Novoladozhsky district was moved from Novaya Ladoga to the village of Gostinopolie , which was renamed Volkhov in this regard, and the district was renamed Volkhovsky [3] .
It was not possible to place all the county services in Gostinopol, as a result of which part of the district institutions were located in New and Old Ladoga , as well as in the village of Zvanka [4] .
On May 31, 1924 , in view of the revealed inexpediency, the center of the Volkhov district was again moved to the city of Novaya Ladoga. The city of Volkhov was transformed into the village of Volkhov, and since 1927 - the village of Gostinopole [3] .
By a resolution of the Presidium of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee of August 1, 1927, during the reform of the administrative-territorial division, the Leningrad province and all its counties were abolished. The territory of the Volkhov district was included in the Andreevsky , Volkhovsky , Mginsky districts of the Leningrad district , the Pash district of the Lodeinopolsky district and the Chudovsky district of the Novgorod district of the Leningrad region .
