Referendums in Switzerland were held on March 2 and 30, April 20, May 18, July 6, October 5 and November 23, 1952 [1] . On March 2, a referendum was held on a federal resolution on changing personal requirements for opening new drinking establishments. The resolution was rejected by 54% of the vote [1] . The referendum on March 30 under the federal law on assistance to agriculture and farming communes was approved by 54% of the vote. An April referendum on a civilian initiative on a tax on the sale of commodities was rejected by 81% of the vote. The May referendum on a civilian initiative on financing arms and protecting social achievement was also rejected by 56% of the vote. The July referendum on a federal resolution to cover weapons costs was rejected by 58% of the vote. In October, referendums were held on an amendment to the federal law on old-age and breadwinner insurance related to tobacco tax and on the establishment of bomb shelters in buildings. The first was approved by 68% of the vote, while the second was rejected by 85% of the vote. In November, referendums were held to limit the extension of control over certain prices and the federal resolution on grain procurement. Both were approved. [1]
