Alexander Abubakirovich Muntagirov (born May 21, 1955 ) is a Soviet and Russian ballet dancer and choreographer. People's Artist of the RSFSR (1989).

Biography
Alexander Muntagirov was born on May 21, 1955 in the city of Pervouralsk, Sverdlovsk Region . At the age of 9, he enrolled in a circus studio, but a year later he moved to a ballet studio, where his excellent dancer data were revealed [1] . In 1973 he graduated from the Perm Choreographic School (teacher I.I. Plakht ) and was enrolled in the troupe of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theater . The first parts he performed: Rybnik (Til Uhlenshpigel, 1976, choreographer V.N. Butrimovich), Adam (Creation of the world, 1978, V.N. Butrimovich), Ostap Bender (Twelve Chairs, 1986, choreographer A B. Petrov). Other parties: Albert; Siegfried and Rothbart; Basil; Kasym (“Mother Field”), Rzhevsky (“Hussar Ballad”); Romeo and Mercutio; Modest Petrovich and Artynov ("Anyuta"), Alfred ("Lady with Camellias"). Muntagirov remained the soloist of the ballet until 1995. According to the Russian Ballet encyclopedia, “the generosity of natural data allows Muntagirov to dance both parties of a romantic plan and grotesque-comedic ” [2] .
In 1988-1991, Muntagirov led the ballet studio at the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theater [2] , in 1995-2002 he was the artistic director of the ballet troupe of the Chelyabinsk Theater [1] . In 2002, he headed the Department of Choreography of the Khanty-Mansiysk Branch of Moscow State University of Culture and Art [3] .
Family
Wife is a ballet dancer. Son - Vadim Muntagirov (born 1990) - leading dancer of the National Ballet of England. Daughter - soloist of the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theater [3] .
