The coat of arms of the city of Torez is the official symbol of the city of Torez of the Donetsk region , approved on April 2, 2003 by decision No. 4 / 8-156 of the session of the Torez city council.

Content
Description
The shield is divided into two parts in azure and green. In the first part, a golden rising sun without a face, with golden rays, straight and flame-like alternately. In the second part, the golden letters "1778". On top of everything is a black eight-pointed star with long and short rays alternately. The shield is framed by a wreath of oak leaves intertwined with azure ribbon with the inscription "Thorez" and crowned with a silver stone crown.
Symbols
The sun symbolizes light and life, a black star depicted in the sun - a symbol of the cityβs main wealth - anthracite coal.
