Biography
Natalia Poznyakovskaya was born on November 30 ( December 12 ), 1889 in Kiev [1] in the family of a college secretary. She graduated from the Ministerial Gymnasium and the School of Music in Kiev. In 1909-1913, she studied piano at the St. Petersburg Conservatory with A.N. Esipova , she graduated from the conservatory with a gold medal. At the final exam, she performed a concert of C. Saint-Saens for piano and orchestra , for which she became a laureate of the A.G. Rubinstein Prize and received a prize - the piano of Schroeder. In 1914 she received the first prize at the competition for female pianists named after V. A. Erakova [2] .
Natalia Poznyakovskaya worked for many years at the St. Petersburg (Leningrad) Conservatory. She was an adjunct of a special class of playing the piano A.N. Esipova (until 1913), teacher (1913), senior teacher (1917), professor (1926-1944, 1964-1973), professor-consultant (1973-1978), professor ( 1978-1981) piano class. In 1927-1929 she was a member of the Bureau of the Piano Department, in 1927-1937 - a member of the local committee. In 1942 she was acting dean of the faculty. In 1927-1941 she worked as a teacher in the piano class at the Third State Musical College, from 1936 to 1937 she headed the piano department there [2] .
Actively engaged in concert activities. In 1913-1916 she took part in the programs of the symphony orchestra conducted by A. I. Ziloti in Pavlovsk . In 1920-1925 she gave a number of recitals in the Small Hall of the Petrograd (Leningrad) State Conservatory [2] . In 1924, at the request of the author, she first performed the third piano concert of S. S. Prokofiev in Leningrad [2] [1] . She took part in chamber programs of the Imperial Russian Musical Society . She performed in sonata evenings with cellist V.V. Wolf-Israel and the trio ( V.I.Sher - violin; E.V. Wolf-Israel - cello). In the 1950s she performed in a piano duet with I. M. Renzin, in the 1960s in a duet with violinist L. M. Nikiforova [2] .
During the Great Patriotic War, she was in besieged Leningrad . In August 1942, she was evacuated to the Novosibirsk region , where until 1944 she worked as a cultural worker at the collective farm club. From 1944 to 1963 she was a professor and head of the piano department at the Ural Conservatory , from 1945 to 1963 she taught piano at the Ten-year Music School at the Ural Conservatory in parallel [2] .
She performed in Sverdlovsk and the Urals with recitals. She performed music by D. D. Shostakovich, S. S. Prokofiev, N. Ya. Myaskovsky. She performed the piano part in quintets of M.I. Glinka and S.I. Taneyev, the quartet of I. Brahms and others. She made several recordings of concerts on radio and television [2] . According to the Musical Encyclopedia , Poznyakovskaya’s game is characterized by “ freshness of interpretations, the nobleness of the performing manner, and the brilliant finger technique ” [1] .
