Jianguo “Jack” Liu (born 1963) is an American ecologist, pioneer of . Professor Emeritus, University of Michigan , Member of the American Philosophical Society (2015 [2] ) and American Academy of Arts and Sciences (2018) [3] .

Biography
He graduated from (bachelor, 1983). In 1986, he received a master’s degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and from the same year to 1988, he worked there as an research assistant. In 1992, at the University of Georgia, he received a Ph.D. He was a postdoc at Harvard University (1992-1994), after which he entered the University of Michigan as an assistant professor and then was an associate and full professor there, and since 2005 he has been a professor emeritus. Also, since 1998, a visiting professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and since 2002, an affiliate researcher at the University of Michigan's Social Research Institute. In 2001-2002 guest scientist at Stanford University (with Paul Ehrlich and Gretchen Daily ), in 2008 at Harvard University (at ), in 2009 at Princeton University (with Simon Levin ). In 2008-2010 President of US-IALE. Since 2010, Professor Emeritus of Lanzhou University (PRC). Founder of CHANS-Net.org . The author of publications in Nature and Science , the latter is a member of the board of review editors. In total, he has about two dozen publications in Science, Nature, PNAS . He is the author of over 250 publications.
