Biography

Yoshiko Matsumura started volleyball at the secondary school of the city of Moriguchi, and then played on the team at the Shitenoji school from Sonejiro city , Osaka Prefecture . In 1961 she received an invitation to the basic team of the Japanese national team Nitibo ( Kaizuka ), which included a 3-time champion of Japan .

Since 1962, Yoshiko Matsumura played for the national team of Japan , with which she won the World Championship gold medal, and two years later at the Olympic Volleyball debut tournament in Tokyo also won top honors. After the Olympic triumph, she ended her gaming career, as did most of the country's volleyball players.
