In 1967, he began working as a coach, entering the coaching staff of Kiselevsky Shakhtar . In 1972, he worked as the team leader in Kuzbass .
In 1977, he began an independent coaching career, leading β Gazovik β (Orenburg). In 1978-1979 he worked as the head coach of the Taganrog Torpedo , and in 1980 he headed the Kazan Rubin . Since 1981, he worked in Chelyabinsk Lokomotiv , first in administrative positions, and in 1983, as head coach.
From 1986 to 1993 [2] Izhevsk Zenit trained, under his leadership, the team played about 300 matches [3] . In 1988, he led the team to victory in the RSFSR Cup among the teams of the second league.
Then he held senior positions in the Izhevsk club "Gazovik-Gazprom" / " SOYUZ-Gazprom " - vice-president (1996, 2000-2001) and president (1997-2000, 2002-2005). In January-March 1999, he simultaneously acted as head coach, the team at that time did not play a single match. In 2007 and 2008, he was a member of the coaching staff of the team. For many years he was a member of the Council of the Professional Football League of Russia.
From 2011 until the end of his life, he worked as the sports director of FC Izhevsk .
He died on November 24, 2013 at the 75th year of his life [4] .
