Protopselaphus frogneri (lat.) - a species of staphylinids of the genus Protopselaphus . The species name is given in honor of Karl Frogner, who participated in the collection of a typical series of a new species.

Description
Small short-winged beetles, body length less than 2 mm. It differs from related species in the following features: scutellum without indentation; elytra short, equal to 1.6 of the length of pronotum and together about 1/4 wider than their length; the mesosternal interstagal protrusion is long, the mesosternal length is more than 0.4 x meso-metasternal length. The main body color is tan. Antennae 11-segmented, last three segments large and form an expanded club. The mandibular palps consist of 4 segments, the lower labial palps are 3-segmented. Eyes are rounded, multi-faceted, protruding. Pronotum oval with fully rounded lateral margins. Elytra relatively long, with parallel sides and slightly rounded posterior edges. The legs are thin [1] .
