Biography
He was born in the family of the teacher and local historian Alexander Fedotovich Korablev (1906-1981), whose name was given to the Pudozh Museum of History and Local Lore.
In 1965 he graduated from secondary school No. 1 in Segezha , in 1969 - the historical and philological faculty of Petrozavodsk State University with a degree in history. In 1971, after serving in the army, he became a graduate student of the Karelian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences with a degree in Russian history.
Since 1973 - an employee of the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Karelian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences . In 1980 he defended his thesis on the topic "Socio-economic history of the Karelian Pomerania in the second half of the XIX century" in the Leningrad branch of the Institute of History of the USSR
