Fenella Fielding ( born Fenella Fielding , nee. Fenella Marion Feldman ( born Fenella Marion Feldman ); November 17, 1927 - September 11, 2018 ) - British actress [5] . It gained great popularity for its roles in the series of comedy films “Keep It Up” (1958–1992), the series “Notes of the Pickwick Club” (1985) and the youth series “The Duckies” [6] (2007-2013). Among the filmography there are also Sapphire, The Darkest House, Mr. Pitkin on the Stage, as well as the series The Prisoner, Crazy Adventures of Robin Hood and others [7] .

Biography

Early years

Fenella Fielding was born on November 17, 1927 in London [8] . In the family where Fenella was the younger sister, there were two more children - Basil Feldman [9] and Baron Feldman. Their mother, Tilly, had Romanian-Jewish roots, and their father, Philip Feldman, was a Lithuanian Jew. Father, at one time, worked as the manager of a movie theater in Silvertown , in east London [10] . She grew up in Lower Clapton, and later moved to Edgware, where she studied at the College of North London.

Career

Fenella began her acting career in 1952, participating in stage productions [11] . For the first time, she gave a creative break when she accompanied the then-unknown actor Ron Moody, whom she met in an audition at the London School of Economics. It became popular due to its role in the musical version of Valmouth in 1958 [12] . In 1958-1992 she starred in the series of comedy films "Keep it up."

In 1966 she starred in her own television program " Izeena ", and in 1985 - in the series "Notes of the Pickwick Club."

From 2007 to 2013, she also starred in the youth series "Skins".

Death

Fielding suffered a stroke in August 2018 and died 2 weeks later on September 11 [13] [14] .
