Carebara jiangxiensis (lat.) Is a species of very small ants of the genus Carebara from the subfamily Myrmicinae ( Formicidae ). China [1] .

Description
Small ants are tan. It differs from closely related species (for example, from Carebara lusciosa ) in the following features: the nape with transverse grooves, the occipital margin of the head without an explicit indentation in the middle, the propodeum is angular (protrudes at an angle of more than 90 Β° from the back), the head is rectangular, smooth, the length is clearly larger than its width, the dorsum of the chest is slightly convex, the pro-mesonotum is convex and higher than the propodeum. The complex eyes of soldiers from 1-3 facets, ocelli absent. Occipital angles of the head without protrusions-horns. Body length 1-2 mm. The antennae of soldiers and workers are 9-segmented with a 2-segmented mace. The scapus is short. The mandibular palps consist of 2 segments, the lower labial palms of 2. They have a dimorphic caste of workers with small workers and large soldiers. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of two segments: petiolus and postpetiolus (the latter is clearly separated from the abdomen), the sting is developed, pupae are naked (without cocoon) [1] .
Systematics
The species was described in 1995 based on materials from China by Chinese worldmecologists Jian Wu and Changlu Wang , under the original name Oligomyrmex jiangxiensis [2] . Valid status was confirmed in 2003 during an audit of the local world fauna by Chinese entomologist Professor Zhenghui Xu. They belong to the tribe Solenopsidini [1] [3] .
