Yuri Alekseevich Polyakov ( February 21, 1932 , Moscow - March 10, 1992 , Perm ) - Soviet archaeologist , candidate of historical sciences [1] .

Born in 1932 in Moscow. Higher education received at the Faculty of History and Philology of Perm University , which he graduated in 1955.

He got a job at the Kungur Museum of Local Lore , where he worked for 2 years [1] .

From 1960 he worked at Perm University , lectured on the history of primitive society , archeology , ethnography , and the history of the country until the XVIII century .

In 1963, became interested in Glyadenov culture in the Middle and Upper Prikamye . Thanks to his studies, it was possible to systematize more than 200 monuments, to establish the territory of settlement of Glyaden tribes in the Middle Prikamye (Chastinskaya, Tulvinskaya, Ocherskaya, Yugovskaya, Chernovskaya, Mulyanskaya, Chusovskaya) and in the Upper Prikamye (Tuiskaya, Garevskaya, Obvinskaya). He established a chronological framework for the existence of culture, which is limited to the period from the third century. BC e . up to V - VI centuries. n e [2] .

Also, thanks to the research of Polyakov, cultural and social factors generalizing the Glyadnovites were clarified, they, according to his research, were: the general economic structure, the funeral rite , and the single basis of religious ideas [2] .

Thus, the question of the cultural unity of the tribes of the Middle and Upper Prikamye, of the Glyadenov culture as a whole in ethnic terms as a tribal community was resolved [2] .

At the same time, due to the study of cult monuments by Polyakov, religious constructions were revealed that testified to observations of the sun , which created the basis for timing and determining the change of seasons [1] .

The scientist died on March 10, 1992 in the city of Perm.
