Final
The final in the 3000m hurdles for men was held on August 9, 2018 [2] . The expected victory in the tactical race was won by the leader of the European steeplechase of the last decade, Mahidin Mehissi-Benabbad , who easily ran away from his rivals on the final lap. The 33-year-old Frenchman became a five-time European champion: he took one gold at each of the last five continental championships, starting in 2010 . Mehissi-Benabbad won four of five victories in the 3000m hurdles and one - 1500m. This gold medal could be his sixth (and fifth in a row in the steeple-chese), but in 2014 he was disqualified after a triumphant 3000m obstacle to a straight jersey removed at the finish line [3] .
