L'Hebdo du Vanuatu is Vanuatu 's weekly periodical , the first issue of which dates to December 11, 2008. [1] This is the first newspaper in Vanuatu, published exclusively in French [2] [3] , which, along with bilam and English , is one of the three official languages of the state [4] .

The founders of the newspaper are Gene Wong and Mark Neil-Jones , journalists of the English-language publication Vanuatu Daily Post [2] [3] [5] . The publication was established with the support of the European Union and the French Embassy in Vanuatu [1] . The intended audience of the newspaper are French-speaking citizens of both Vanuatu itself and neighboring New Caledonia [1] . In addition, the materials of each issue include news from both regions [3] .
Each issue is priced at 100 watts (150 Pacific francs ) [1] .
