Luis de Pablo ( Spanish: Luis de Pablo ; born January 28, 1930 , Bilbao ) is a Spanish composer of the “51 year old generation”.

Content
Biography
He studied at the Law Faculty of the University of Madrid , and studied music privately. He made his debut as a composer in 1953 ( Spanish: Coral for seven wind instruments). He founded the group "Time and Music" ( 1959 ). In the early 1960s, he met in Darmstadt with D. Ligeti , K. Stockhausen , P. Boulez , B. Maderna . In 1963, he founded the Forum Musica festival to perform music by young composers. In 1964 he became the head of the First Madrid Biennale of Contemporary Music, in 1965 he created the first Electronic Music Laboratory in Spain. In 1972, he organized the Pamplona Meetings synthesis art festival. He taught in the USA and Canada .
Creativity
He is the author of several operas (The Indiscreet Traveler, 1984 - 1988 ; Mother Calls at the Table, 1991 - 1992 , both on the libretto by Vicente Molina Foysa; The Young Lady Christina, 1997 - 1999 , based on the novel by M. Eliade , etc. ), many orchestral and chamber compositions, electronic music (The Shaman, 1976 ), music based on verses by San Juan de la Cruz , L. de Gongora , A. Machado , F. Pessoa , V. Aleiksandre , H. Guillen , P. Jimferrera et al., Film music by K. Saura , V. Eris , Gonzalo Suarez et al. Translated a monograph on Schoenberg , works by A. Webern .

Recognition
Honorary Doctor of the Complutense University of Madrid, member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid ( 1989 ), cavalier and officer of the Order of the Arts and Literature ( 1973 , 1986 ). In 2000 , on the seventieth birthday of Luis de Pablo, Henri Pousser dedicated the Jardinet avec Automates piano suite to him. Ibero-American Music Award by Thomas Luis de Victoria ( 2009 ).
