Lucille La Verne ( born Lucille Laverne Mitchum ; November 7, 1872 , Nashville , Tennessee , USA - March 4, 1945 , Culver City , California , USA ) - American actress , famous with her roles in silent films and in early color films, as well as for her triumph on the American stage. She is most often called the voice of the first Disney villain , Queen Grimhild , from Walt Disney 's first animated film “ Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ” (1937).

Biography
La Verne was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 7, 1872. She began her career in childhood at the local summer theater. As a teenager, she performed with small touring theater troupes. When she was fourteen, she played both Juliet and Lady Macbeth at the same time. Her ability to play any role quickly attracted the attention of more prolific companies, and she debuted on Broadway in 1888. She then became the lead lady with some of America's top stock companies, triumphing in San Francisco and Boston among other cities. Ultimately, she founded her successful joint stock company.
On the New York scene, she was known for its diversity and versatility. Her hits on Broadway included leading roles in Uncle Tom's Cabin, Seven Days, and Down East. She was also known for her black roles. Her biggest stage of triumph came in 1923, when she played the role of Widow Cuggle in the hit play Sunrise. Between Broadway, the US tour and the European tour, La Verne gave over 3,000 performances. She also worked on Broadway as a playwright and director. In the late 1920s, the Broadway Theater was named after it for a short period of time.
She made her film debut in 1915 in the movie "Night" directed by James Young. She also played a small role in the film Orphans of the Storm, shot by D.U. Griffith . Her most famous work is the voice of Queen Grimhild and her alter ego, the old witch, in the 1937 Disney cartoon "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
The last years of life and death
In 1932, she suffered a serious accident in a car accident in Los Angeles . Trying to avoid the car turning around, her car crashed into a telephone pole, and she dislocated five vertebrae.
In 1933, she was first diagnosed with cancer, she underwent two operations. Cancer returned again in 1937, after which she left her career and underwent many more surgeries. Cancer returned for the third time in January 1945, and four months later claimed its life. She was buried at Inglewood Park Cemetery. She was never married, had no children.
