Graham Higman ( Eng. Graham Higman ; January 19, 1917 - April 8, 2008) is a British mathematician who worked on group theory .

Biography
He founded the Journal of Algebra and was its editor from 1964 to 1984. In the years 1965-1967. was president of the London Mathematical Society .
He was a preacher in a Methodist church. During World War II, he was an outlaw for ideological reasons and worked in civilian positions in Northern Ireland and Gibraltar .
