Biography
May Skaf was born on April 13, 1969 in Damascus ( Syria ) into a Christian family and grew up in the Muslim district of the city. Her acting talent appeared while studying at the University of Damascus at the Department of French Literature, in which her fellow students participated in theatrical performances at the French Cultural Center.
Scaf was one of the most prominent Syrian movie stars, starred in popular films. Immediately after the outbreak of the civil war , she opposed the regime of Bashar al-Assad . After the uprising began in 2011, she joined the opposition, she was repeatedly arrested. In 2013, after being threatened with murder, Mai left Syria and went to France. The actress, who was called the “face of the Syrian revolution”, continued to struggle with the regime and from emigration.
Scaf died July 23, 2018 from a heart attack in Durdan (department of Eson , France ) at the 50th year of life. Her latest Facebook post on July 20 says, “I will never lose hope. My great Syria will not be Assad's Syria. " She was married and had one son named Jude.
