History
In order times, Lip was a small fishing village. This place is mentioned in 1338 as Lipa , in 1446 as Lieppe , in 1785 as Liepe , and only in 1802 a single name was established - Lip. The linden belonged to the parish of Löbenicht . Wooden rafts from Memel were brought to Lipa along the Curonian lagoon and Deima . On the outskirts of Lipa, the rafts were stockpiled for a pulp mill, which was created by large merchants and bankers of Königsberg. The place turned out to be favorable for the supply of wood, but not for the supply of coal and for the export of finished products. Therefore, in 1906–07, Norddeutsche Zellulose AG was founded in the Cosse region. Both plants exported products to England.
In 1913, one of the three main pumping stations for municipal wastewater was built in Lipe. By the end of the 19th century, the feces of the city were collected twice a week by carts and scattered in the fields near the city. Since 1904, a 30-kilometer partially open sewage system was laid to Fishhausen.
In 1905, Lip was incorporated into the city of Konigsberg. After laying the railway, Lipa became attractive as a new residential complex.
