Liamuiga , Misery [1] , Mount Misery [2] ( Eng. Liamuiga ) - the highest point of the island of Saint Kitts and the countries of Saint Kitts and Nevis (1155 m or 1156 m), an extinct volcano in the crater of which the lake is located (or was located until 1959, and as of 2006 it was restored [3] ). From the top, where tours are organized, you can clearly see the whole island, several neighboring islands and the expanse of the Caribbean Sea . Until 1983, the peak was called Mount Misery .
To a height of 460 m, the mountain is covered with cultivated land and several small villages. Higher up to a height of 900 m are tropical forests. Liamuiga last reliably erupted the last time about 1800 years ago, information about two eruptions in historical time can not be verified.
