Political and military activities
During the reign of the Bukhara Khan - Ashtarkhanid Ubaidullah Khan II (1702-1711), the supreme Kushbegi Turakulibiy gained great influence. It contributed to the growing influence of Kalmaks at the Bukhara court, and unrest and civil strife intensified in the state. It was he who helped strengthen the position of another Kalmak Javshan.
The Bukhara historian Mir Muhammad Amin-i Bukhari, describing the unluckiness of Turakuli-biya, connects his qualities with one of the reasons for the murder of Ubaidullah Khan II and compares the death of the Khan with the death of the state. [1] On the appointment of Khan Javshan to the post of Kushbegi, Mir Muhammad Amin-i Bukhari writes the following:
The despicable Javshan, who was the source of everything that happened, received the post of Supreme Kushbegi and the important administration of the affairs of the Inak. The ring of Solomon thus fell into the hands of Satan. He made his children and relatives endowed with devilish properties fulfilling various duties at the sovereign's palace. [2]
Javshan participated in a conspiracy against Ubaidullah Khan II, contributed to his death and received 8,000 tenge for killing the khan from the conspirators.
According to the historian Ubaidullah Khan II, he confiscated the property of all persons who had anything to do with the murdered khan; for every word he didn’t like, he put the perpetrator to death with confiscation of his property. The tax collectors and the entire service class were terribly afraid of him because of their ill-treatment. The emirs decided to get rid of the kushbegi. He was asked by an atalyk with his brother Salah Kurchi, under the pretext, and when Jaushan arrived at the atalyk, he was captured there, thrown into prison, tortured and killed with his brothers Malakh and Ibrahim. [3]
Thus, after the coming to power of Abulfayz Khan (1711-1747), Javshan was killed in Bukhara and Abdullah-biy was appointed supreme kushbegi of Bukhara.
