Classification

Classification is debatable. In particular, it is indicated that the types of lepilemurs discovered in 2006 are described only on the basis of molecular studies, and all are allopatric . [2]

Description

The appearance of medium sized lepilemurs, the coat is mainly gray, with a brownish tinge of limbs. Around the eyes, the coat is noticeably lighter. A strip of darker color along the back. The lower part of the body is light gray. The body length is from 58 to 67 cm, of which about 30 cm falls on the tail. [3]

Distribution

It is found in the southeastern part of Madagascar in the rain forests of the Anduhahel National Park between the Mandrara and Mananara rivers. [one]

Population Status

The International Union for Conservation of Nature has assigned this species a Critically Endangered conservation status. The main threat to the population is habitat destruction. [2]
