Yellow is a 2006 futuristic short film directed by Neil Blomkamp , scripted by Terry Tutchell and Blomkamp himself [1] . The film was made at the request of sportswear manufacturer Adidas as part of the Adicolor advertising campaign, in which the IDEALOGUE advertising agency [2] gathered seven directors, assigning different colors to each of them and asking them to create a function based on their emotional and creative response to that color, and then distributed as podcasts [3] .

The four-minute short shot by Trent Opalock [4] in the usual mock-up style of Blomkamp’s pocket camera concerns a missing Israeli military robot [5] .
Content
Story
The film begins with a description of the development process, which ultimately leads to the creation of the protagonist. It is explained that in the Robotics laboratory five androids were created as part of the experiment, each of which was identified with a different color, but one turned out to be different. Yellow developed the ability to think and learn, to such an extent that he escaped the Mossade Institute in which he was created and became part of society for 18 months. Instead of seeing people as enemies or threatening his own survival, he “made decisions, watch people and learn.” The SWAT team leaves after Yellow, chasing it through several countries and finally tracking it in Shanghai. The film ends during a meeting between the android and the SWAT team with a voice suggesting the birth of a new era when AI becomes part of our society.
Production
"Yellow" was shot by Terry Tatchell and Neil Blomkamp. Production began at RSA Production, which is owned by director Ridley Scott . Trent Opalok, who also worked with Blomkamp on the film " District 9 ". Visual effects were made by VFX's own company. The music was composed by Gary Posner. The film features actors Julien Phipps, Giddon Carmel, Jason Bell, Jason Lee, Bob Dong, Hamish Cameron and Irene Astle [6] .
