Biography
Born in the village of Krasny, Krasninsky district, Smolensk region. He graduated from the Moscow Agricultural Academy. K.A. Timiryazev (1952).
In 1952-1957, a senior research fellow at the Oryol State Agricultural. experimental station.
In 1957—2000 at the Research Institute of Agriculture in the central regions of the Non-Chernozem Zone: graduate student, junior researcher, senior researcher, department head, chief researcher.
Doctor of Biological Sciences (1972), Professor (1978), Academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences (1988, corresponding member since 1975). Honorary Member of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan (1998).
To increase the productivity potential of spring wheat varieties, I used their crossing with winter varieties of selection P. P. Lukyanenko.
Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation (1998), Republic of Tatarstan (1988). Laureate of the USSR State Prize (1977) and the State Prize of Russia (1995). He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1981), "Badge of Honor" (1971), 4 medals of the USSR and the Russian Federation.
Author (co-author) of more than 300 scientific papers, including 27 books and brochures. Received 34 copyright certificates and patents for inventions.
