Content
Story
“The young girl Abigail lives in a city where an epidemic of a mysterious disease broke out many years ago - and the authorities closed the city’s borders. Abby's father was one of the sick - and he was taken away when she was 6 years old. Trying to find her father, she learns that an epidemic is a huge deception. In fact, in the world where she lives, there is magic - but her city was captured by dark magicians who destroyed all the other wizards, banned magic and tried to erase all references to it.
The epidemic serves as a cover for "clearing" the city of magicians. For many years, the Special Department takes all, and the magical abilities manifest themselves, declaring them "infected." And the majority of residents do not even suspect that the rulers of the city are in fact not their protectors - but their captors.
Abby discovers that magical abilities awaken in her. It scares the girl, but no matter how she tries to hide it - the magic is shown in her, and the agents of the Special Department begin to hunt for the heroine. She has to flee from her home and go on a journey full of adventures and dangers. This path will turn her ideas about the world in which she lives, about the essence of magic - and about herself ” [9] .

Shooting
Subsidies in the category of “children's films” were allocated by the Ministry of Culture of Russia in 2017 [10] [11] . Filming took place in St. Petersburg, Gatchina , Moscow and Estonia [12] in English. The age limit of the film indicated 6 + [13] .
Some viewers noticed that the film’s synopsis and features of the world in which the action takes place resemble the plot and the world of Nick Perumov ’s books about the adventures of Molly Blackwater . Perumov said that in 2016, Kinodanz studio was negotiating with him about the possible adaptation of this series, he gave the studio stories of books, but the studio refused to further communication [14] .
