Changes from previous seasons
According to the plan for changing the position of women's football in England, developed by the Football Association of England , this is the second season in the English Premier League of women's football, held for the new calendar, when the season begins in September and ends in May [1] . This is also the first season when the Women's Super League has become a fully professional league with 11 teams selected from fifteen clubs applying for participation in the reorganized league, where only clubs licensed by the FA can participate in the championship [2] . Teams wishing to play in the Premier League had to meet the new professional criteria, so Sunderland, who took 7th place in the previous season, did not receive a license and, accordingly, their place in the Women's Super League [3] .
