On May 28 (16), 1812, the headquarters officer of the New Ingermanland regiment, Major Zhukov, was appointed commander of the regiment. He commanded the regiment in the famous battles near Smolensk , in the Battle of Borodino , in the battle of Leipzig , on December 1, 1814 he was promoted to colonel, on April 7 (March 26), 1822, Colonel Zhukov was discharged from service with production as a major general and settled in the city Spassk, Tambov province
