History
The village of Velikoye Selo is mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 [2] .
GREAT - the village belongs to the heirs of Mr. Porshnyakov, the number of inhabitants under the audit: 64 m., 60 w. p. [3] (1838)
GREAT - the village of Mrs. Orlova, on a country road, the number of yards - 17, the number of souls - 64 m. [4] (1856)
GREAT VILLAGE - the owner's village at the well, the number of yards - 20, the number of inhabitants: 82 m., 80 w. paragraph [5] . (1862 year)
In the XIX - early XX centuries, the village administratively belonged to the Vyskatsky volost of the 1st zemsky district of the 1st camp of the Gdovsk district of the St. Petersburg province.
According to the Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province in 1905, the village was part of the Malyshevsky Rural Society [6] .

From 1917 to 1922, the village of Velikoye Selo was part of the Gogolevsky village council of the Rudny volost of the Gdovsky district.
Since 1922, as part of the Navoloksky village council of the Dolozhsky volost.
Since February 1927, as part of the Viskatsky volost.
Since August 1927, as part of the Novoselsky Village Council of the Rudnensky District .
In 1928, the population of the village was 143 people [7] .
According to 1933, the village of Velikoye Selo was part of the Novoselsky village council of the Rudny district [8] . Since August 1933, as part of the Gdovsk District .
Since January 1941, as part of the Novoselsky Village Council of the Slantsevsky District.
From August 1, 1941 to February 28, 1944, the German occupation.
Since 1963, as part of Kingisepp district [7] .
As of August 1, 1965, the village of Veliky Selo was part of the Novoselsky Village Council of Kingisepp District [9] .
Since November 1965, again as part of the Novoselsky Village Council of the Slantsy District. In 1965, the population of the village was 25 people [7] .
According to the data of 1973 and 1990, the village of Velikoye Selo was part of the Novoselsky village council of the Slantsy district [10] [11] .
In 1997, 6 people lived in the village of Velikoye Selo of the Novoselskoy volost, in 2002 - 9 people (Russians - 67%) [12] [13] .
In 2007, 6 people lived in the village of Velikoe Selo of the Novoselsky SP , in 2010 - 14 people [14] [15] .

The village is located in the southeastern part of the district on the highway 41K-782 ( Housewarming - Zastorone ).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 5 km [14] .
The distance to the nearest railway platform Slantsy is 38 km [9] .
