Biography
Born on August 22, 1940 in Dnepropetrovsk in a working class family.
Since 1955, he studied at the Dnepropetrovsk Railway College, later graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Mining Institute with a degree in electrical engineer.
Since 1959, he worked as an electrician, foreman, foreman of an electric installation train No. 702. Since 1961 he served in the Soviet Army , since 1964 he was an electrical mechanic at the Dnepropetrovsk Engineering Plant .
Since 1966 he was a member of the CPSU .
Since 1965, he worked at the Dnepropetrovsk City Dairy as a senior energy engineer, then as the Chief Power Engineer, Deputy Director, since 1976 he was the Director of Dnepropetrovsk Dairy No. 2.
Since 1988, he was the General Director of the Pridneprovsky Dairy Plant, later on he was the President of the Pridneprovsky Combine Joint-Stock Company, and the President of the Ukrainian Baby Food Corporation.
In 1990, during the first alternative parliamentary elections in the Ukrainian SSR, he was nominated as a candidate for People’s Deputies by the labor collectives of the Pridneprovsky Dairy Plant, the Production Association of the Confectionery Industry, the Winery, the Production Association of the Beer and Soft Drinks Industry Dnipro and the Car Company No. 0304, March 18, 1990 in the second round he was elected People’s Deputy of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR of the XII convocation (hereinafter - the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the I convocation ) from the Industrial and constituency No. 79 of the Dnipropetrovsk region , won 59.01% of the vote among 5 candidates. In parliament, he was a member of the Accord-Center deputy group, was its leader, he was also a member of the New Ukraine faction, and was a member of the commission on economic reform and national economic management. The deputy powers expired on May 10, 1994.
After the termination of deputy powers in 1994, he continued to engage in entrepreneurial activity. In the 2002 parliamentary elections, he was elected People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IV convocation , was a member of the commission on finance and banking, and was a member of the "Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Ukraine."
Veretennikov is also known as a writer and producer of a number of films, is the author of the books “Red Log” (1982), “Song of a deer tract” (1984), “Unexpectedly” (1987), “Wolf Run” (1992), “Song of a deer natural boundaries ”(1992),“ Golden Eagles ”(1992),“ Lost Paradise ”(1995),“ Wild Herd ”(1998),“ Where the Wild Herd ”(1998),“ Horse Racing ”(2000),“ Zamory ”Rush (2004), theatrical productions of Key Positions (1985) and Zaporogi, the producer of the feature films Lost Paradise (2000), Wild Herd (2003) and Zaporogi (2006).
Awards and titles
Viktor Veretennikov is a member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine (since 1994), the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (since 1994), Honorary Academician of the International Academy of Management and Business (1996).
He has a number of state awards, including the Order of the Badge of Honor (1986), the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, V degree (2005) [1] , and the Order of Merit III degree (2002) [2] .
He also has a number of international creative awards: the gold medal “Alexandra Dovzhenko” for his services in the development of literature, television and cinema for the novel and the film “Paradise Lost” (2001), the gold medal “Lesya Ukrainka” for his great contribution to the development of television and cinema, the increase their roles in the life of the world community for the novel and the film Wild Tabun (2003), the Anton Chekhov gold medal for their great contribution to the development of world literature and cinema. On September 11, 2009, Viktor Veretennikov was awarded the title “ Honored Art Worker of Ukraine ” for the literary activity and development of Ukrainian cinema [3] .

Married, has two children.
