Domuyo is a stratovolcano , the highest peak in the Argentinean province of Neuquen and throughout Patagonia . It has a height of 4709 m. Translated from the Mapudungu language, the name of the mountain means “That which trembles and grumbles”, which is associated with its geothermal activity.

The volcano was probably formed in the Late Pleistocene or Holocene [2] . It has a large 15-kilometer caldera, within which there are at least 14 dacitic lava domes , and five more outside [2] . On the slopes of Domuillo there are a large number of fumaroles , thermal springs and geysers .
You can climb the mountain, for this it is desirable to have physical and technical training. The mountain should be reached from the city of Chos-Malal via federal highway number 40, connecting with regional road number 43, passing by Andacoglio .
