Kari Arnason ( Isl. Kári Árnasson ; born February 25, 1944 ) is an Icelandic footballer who played for the IBA club as well as the national team of Iceland .

Among others, he played in two matches of the qualifying football tournament for the 1968 Olympics against the amateur team of Spain in 1967 [1] . In the first match, which was played in Iceland, he came on as a substitute in the 40th minute, the match ended with the score 1: 1. [2] In the second match, which was played in Spain, he entered the starting lineup as a right midfielder . [3] for the break, the score was 2: 1 in favor of Spain, in the second half, Eileyvur Hafsteinsson equalized the score, after which Arnanson took the Iceland national team ahead, however, Iceland conceded three goals. At the club level, he played for the IBA club, which he joined the main team in 1960. [5] In the Icelandic championship of 1968, he was one of the top four scorers of the championship, [6] in the same year he was recognized as the best player in Iceland. [7] Completed his player career in 1976.
