At first he studied under Gerolamo Giovenone. He began his career as an artist in Vercelli . Since 1530 he was associated with the workshop of Gaudenzio Ferrari , and after his move to Milan (around 1540) he became considered the first artist in Vercelli ( Piedmont ).
Creativity
Creativity of the master can be divided into 3 periods. In our artistic evolution, we can distinguish three periods:
The first period was youthful and youthful years when, inspired by the works of Gaudenzio Ferrari, he created the Madonna and Child ( Savoy Gallery ).
The second period coincides with a stay in Milan , where Bernardino Lanino is influenced by Leonardo da Vinci (St. Anne with the Virgin and Child ( Pinacoteca Brera , Milan ).
During the third period, previous experience helps B. Lanino find his original and independent style, in which the traditions of the high Renaissance and the new style merge in Mannerism- decorativeism (Our Lady of Della Grace, San Paolo, Vercelli ).
After the death of Gaudenzio Ferrari (1543), Bernardino Lanino inherited his workshop and the prestige of the famous artist Milan.
