Bandera, Bogdan Andreevich

Bogdan Andreevich Bandera ( Ukrainian Bogdan Andriyovich Bandera , pseudonym "Lemko", 1919 , Old Ugrinov - March 11, 1944 , Peski , Mykolaiv region ) - Ukrainian public figure, member of the national liberation movement, member of the OUN . He studied at the Stryi and Rohatyn gymnasiums in the Republic of Poland , and then at the Lviv Polytechnic Institute . In 1939, after the annexation of Lvov to the USSR , he fled to Krakow . [1] In the same year, he joined the Ukrainian nationalist underground. After the proclamation of the Act on June 30, 1941, he returned to Lviv. In 1943 he led the Kalush district OUN administration, receiving the nickname “Lemko”. Engaged in establishing the underground network of the OUN in the Kherson and Nikolaev region of the Reichskommissariat Ukraine .

According to one version, Bandera was accidentally shot by the Red Army troops during the liberation of the Kherson region in 1944. According to another version, in the spring of 1944, he fled first to the west of Ukraine, and then allegedly to Vienna , where he lived until 1963 [1] . According to the third version - he became a victim of betrayal of Peter Voinovsky in Nikolaev [2] [3] .
