The port of Belgrade is located on the Danube , 1168 kilometers from its mouth. The port is located near the city center, next to the Pancevsky bridge . Belgrade port also includes a passenger terminal on the neighboring Sava River. The port can annually receive 3,000,000 tons of cargo. Storage space is 300,000 square meters in the building and 650,000 square meters in the open.
History
The port of Belgrade opened in 1961 . Prior to this, the port was combined with the railway station. Recently, a project was announced to transfer the port from the city to the other side of the Danube, and use its modern territory for the construction of residential and office buildings.
