History
The cinema house of the Sverdlovsk regional organization of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation was opened on April 2, 1983. The Sverdlovsk regional organization of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, established in 1958, huddled in a small room at the Sverdlovsk film studio for many years, because regional branches have their own Cinema House not supposed to.
The House of Cinema arose, including thanks to the stubbornness and will of the classic of the Ural cinema Yaropolk Lapshin, who was at that time heading the branch of the Union of Cinematographers, with the support of the famous fellow countryman Sergei Gerasimov.
They managed to prove to the leadership of the USSR SK that it was necessary to have a creative club for cinematographers in such a large center as Sverdlovsk. Funds were allocated, but there was an unspoken ban on the construction of cultural institutions in the city (the Circus and the Uralmashzavod Palace of Culture were unfinished).
I had to go for a trick: the Sverdlovsk film studio was going to build a residential building in the city center (the ban did not apply to the housing sector), so it was decided to tie the Cinema House to this object. According to the documents, the House of Cinema was held under the name "Dormitory of the Sverdlovsk Film Studio with a service block."
On April 2, 1983, the Cinema House opened in Sverdlovsk. It has become not only a creative club of cinematographers, a venue for intra-union actions, but also the most important venue for publicly accessible cultural events, informational shows, major city and all-union creative and public events, and international film festivals. Originally conceived as a creative club for Ural filmmakers, the Cinema House has decisively expanded this framework, becoming one of the most important cultural centers of Yekaterinburg, where major creative and social events, Russian and international film festivals were held. The most famous artists, artists, writers, musicians of the Urals, Russia and abroad performed in its halls. The lecture hall "Cinema in the world of art" gathered full rooms. With the opening of the Cinema House, filmmakers gained new opportunities for communication, exchange of experience and direct contacts with the audience. Today, the Cinema House is a platform for a wide variety of events, from closed film screenings and workshops to international film festivals and painting exhibitions.
Activities
