He studied in Budapest with Istvan Tomka , then in Berlin with Ferruccio Busoni and Ernst von Donagni , and also studied composition under the direction of Engelbert Humperdinck . Until World War I, he performed in Europe and the USA. In 1914 he received the title of court pianist in Madrid ; in the Spanish period became friends with the composer Andres Isasi , was one of the few performers of his music. In the 1920s He returned to Hungary in 1926-1936. Professor of the Budapest Academy of Music (among his students, Geza Anda and Irene Marik ), since 1929 editor of the journal "Music". In 1937 he was a member of the jury of the Chopin International Piano Competition [1] .
Since 1947, he lived and worked in Chile with his wife, pianist Margarita Lasloffi. He headed the music department at the Catholic University of Chile .
Author of the collection of piano preludes (1934), Introduction and Passacaglia for piano and orchestra and a number of other compositions.
