Player Career
Ibrahim Uzulmez is a pupil of the Turkish club Kocaelispor from his hometown. In 1993-1994, he played for the amateur team " Gönenspor ". In 1994, Ibrahim Uzülmez joined the club of the Second League “ Karabukspor ”, which leased it to the teams of the Turkish lower leagues “ Iskenderun Demir Chelikspor ” and “ Amasyaspor ”. On August 9, 1998, he made his debut in the First League , having left in the basic structure of "Karabykspor" in a guest match against " Bursaspor " [2] .
From the beginning of 1999, Uzulmez represented another club of the First League - Gaziantepspor . On August 15 of the same year, he scored his first goal in the main Turkish league , equalizing the score in the home match with Antalyaspor [3] . On February 27, 2000 Uzulmez scored against the famous “ Fenerbahce ”, bringing the score to a big one in favor of the home team [4] . At the end of the championship, he moved to Besiktas , in which he dreamed of playing since childhood. He spent 11 seasons for the Istanbul club, winning a number of trophies at the national level. His contract with Besiktas was terminated ahead of schedule after a fight with teammate Ibrahim Toraman during the break of the 2010/11 Super League match.
Team
On February 12, 2003, Ibrahim Uzulmez made his debut in the Turkish national team , leaving the main team in a home friendly match with Ukraine [5] . On June 2, 2009, he scored his first and only goal for the national team, noting himself in a friendly home game with Azerbaijan [6] .
Coaching career
Ibrahim Uzulmez began his coaching career at the Rizespor club as an assistant to head coach Mustafa Denizli in 2013. At the end of 2015, for a month Uzulmez led the team of the First League Elazigspor , and since the beginning of 2016, the Super League club Genclerbirligi . On November 7 of the same year, by mutual agreement of the parties, he left this post, and then for a short time he headed the sinking Gaziantepspor . On October 6, 2017, Uzulmez was appointed head coach of Rizespore, which he led to the victory in the First League at the end of the season and the return of Turkish football to the elite.
