Viktor Mikhailovich Bezotoshny (born January 25, 1954 ; Serov , Sverdlovsk Region , USSR ) - Soviet and Russian historian , an expert in the military history of Russia, the history of Napoleonic wars and the history of the Cossacks . He is the author of several monographs and a large number of articles in scientific journals, as well as about 30 museum exhibitions on the history of Russia and the State Historical Museum exposition on the history of the Patriotic War of 1812 . The head of the group of authors of the encyclopedia “The Patriotic War of 1812” and the editor of the annual collection “The Epoch of 1812: Research. Sources. Historiography". Issue I — XV (2001–2017).
Biography
In 1980 he graduated from the Faculty of History of the Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov . In 1987, he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of historical sciences on the subject “Exploration and plans of the parties in 1812”. In 2013 he defended his doctoral thesis on the topic “Russia in the Napoleonic Wars of 1805–1815”.
Supervised the preparation of the exhibition of the State Historical Museum [3] , the Museum of the Patriotic War of 1812 .
Together with A. K. Sorokin Bezotosny is the head of the group of authors of the 2-volume encyclopedia "Foreign campaigns of the Russian army, 1813-1815" (2011, ROSSPEN ), which was awarded the National Prize "Best Books and Publishers of 2011" in the category "History " [4] [5] [6] . The monograph of Bezotosny “Russia in the Napoleonic wars, 1805–1815” (2014, ROSSPAN) was awarded a special award of the National Prize “Best Books and Publishers - 2014” [7] [8] [9] .
